the sewing business

Since I had another creative epiphany and another crazy dream, I had been collecting fabric, cutting (with the help of Beth), sewing organic baby clothes, sewing on cute tags...

Until I made this ad for the new line of clothing from my Brown Cow Cotton Baby Co online store about to re-open.

This is the quote;

“Our task must be to free ourselves... by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and it's beauty.”
Albert Einstein

When re-reading my ad, I thought "hm, what I'm about to do does NOT support this quote that I love so much!"

I was about to burden myself down again, chain myself to the requests of others, to the media, and take time away from my kids and the beautiful land I live in.

So, I quit. Before I even started again.

And shoot down my next idea. Please. My REAL JOB right now is my boys! <3 p="">

Well bad for me but good for you! Ive tried so many sewing, soaping, working from home businesses and its never been worth the sacrifice. I remember one holiday season I was sewing 6 quilts to be ready for an order and I almost lost my mind. And then it took something I loved (quilting) and turned it into something I hated. :( So now when I make a quilt its a gift or for me and its fun again. Our time is worth so much more and Im proud of you! But if you have some girls outfits already sewn that you want to sell, let me know. ;) I love your stuff and your quality.

Oh yes, you understand fully, Heather!! Well, I have a bunch sewn already, and cute Spoonflower fabric, so no doubt that when little miss arrives, she will have clothes sent from Stevensville! If you want something specific or certain fabric, just email me or send me the fabric :)

Aw you're such a good mom! Reminds me of a verse i saw and loved and wrote down, and memorized once. The original says "dad" in it, but it think it works for this occasion too:
Some may own castles built on the Rhine,
and listen to orchestras each evening at nine,
But richer than I they will never be,
I had a Mom who spent time with me.
