Yesterday we had our 28 week appt! We of course had an ultrasound...and I cannot believe our little guy!! He's grown so much, (kinda big actually) and looks soo cute! We actually couldn't really see his face to much cause the placenta is in front of his face, but we just KNOW that he's cute :) He's head down so thats good...and we hope that he stays that way.
It was amazing to SEE him move, and FEEL him at the same time! The ultrasound tech kept sayin Yup...he's fiesty! because whenever she would poke at him, he'd just kick right back.
I haven't gained any weight since my last appt, but found out that Im anemic, and also need to go back for a 3 hr. glucose test right away on Monday. Im worried about that, but need to be the healthiest I can be for our baby. So...it's steak and spinach for me for right now. Eww.
We have a video, and after we get it over to DVD, I can't wait to post a picture...or even a little video of our sweet baby boy! :)

Elissa,
Right away get some Floradix Iron plus herbs, and possibly some Energizing Iron from Enzymatic Therapy for the anemia. Also I'm surprised your midwives are having you take a glucose test...are there some concerns, or what is their reason? Midwives usually don't feel this test is necessary.
There are some additional herbs you can take to help you absorb the iron, Yellow Dock and Shepherd's Purse, if you don't have any relief from the Floradix and Energizing Iron. Are you having other signs of anemia (weird cravings, very low energy?)

Hi Audrey! At the Birth Center, they have each expecting mother take the glucose tolerance test at 28 weeks, just to ensure yours, and the babys health. It might not be the midwives concern, but the facilities?? I have been feeling sluggish, and craving ice, but hope to get to the Good Food store to get some herbs.
Thanks for your advice!
How exciting, Lis!!!
Lis, if you like, or don't mind at least!...cream of wheat is an excellent source of iron and an easy way to bring your count up!
So excited to hear the update - it really is getting closer and we can't wait! I never thought the glucose test was very fun . . . but I survived, hope all goes well. Love ya.
Elissa,
Craving ice is definatly a sign of an iron deficiancy. This is called pica. Ask Anna about it, she craved ice when pregnant with #1. Glad they caught it for you now!

hi sweetie! i just thought of something- cinnamon is supposed to be good for helping regulate your blood sugar. mom also mentioned that you have been eating a lot of fruit... good stuff, but that might have a negative effect on your b/s too. oh, and i had a MAJOR ice craving with cole... still kinda do, but i think it turned more into a habit. now that we're preggers again, it's coming back. i understand... :) love you!!!
ps- cole also has cravings... check out our 'whats for lunch?' post, have a good laugh...
